Sunflowers for Febuary

Our sunflowers that came up all on their own! We brought in a pot that had some sunflowers in it last summer and I guess I didn't pull out the dead flowers before they seeded out so My kids have had fun watching them grow this winter.

 My green house is up and running I moved my herbs into it and they are doing great. I have one tomato and a cauliflower and some of the onions that sprouted this week I love it when the sprouts start coming!
I know it is early for tomatoes but they do really well in the green house and I don't kill them if they are bigger plants when it is time to move them outside.

Spring? Is it really coming?

I went out to my shed this week and happily found that the door was unfrozen. It totally made my day because that means I can plant my early seeds in my green house so now in my kitchen I have my very happy green house with a bunch of little seeds just waits to sprout! So I think spring must be coming, I even noticed that I have patches of weeds that look more green than brown where the snow is slowing melting off. I am so excited my kids are too as much as they have loved all the snow we have this year we are ready for the grass to come back. I think my baby will be the happiest she is 11 months and tries to escape every chance she gets outside, the sun reflecting off the snow and blinding her doesn't seem to hinder her much, she loves to be out there.
 My daughter has albinism  so she is very sensitive to the sun. We spent all summer mostly indoors last year as she was too small to wear sunscreen and would sweat to much and get over heated in long sleeves pretty quickly.This year is looking promising we have been working on her getting used to her sunglasses again and I will be on the hunt for a hat that will keep her covered and she can't pull off to easily :) I found last years stash of sunscreen and will have to add to the supply. For her birthday I am going to get her a UV swimsuit so she can play in the pool with her sisters, she loves playing in water. This summer is bound to be great!

Their daddy is their Valentine so every year he leaves them a surprise on their bed, he gets extra brownie points if he gets them a balloon. 

February fun

Valentines is just around to corner, and we are having a lot of fun already. My kids love doing crafts so we have made our annual heart people, they love it Hannah, my oldest is on the count down to the big day and Emma asks every morning "is it valentines yet?" Friday will be our cookie decorating day, I'm not a big fan of eating the cookies the kids frost so I did my best to find the biggest heart cookie cutter I could find. :) They think they are pretty hot stuff to get a giant cookie to have to themselves.

This year instead of decorating just for the Holiday I have decided to do more of a celebration of our family,  so my entry table has turned into the months celebration table. I don't know about the rest of the world but I just don't have the wall space to show off all of my favorite pictures of my kids so each month I will pull out or print a few of my most favorite ones and display them in some nice frames.. nice frames being the ones I found at the dollar store :) and for their birthday months I am going to make a subway art about their birth, and pull out their baby scrap book i made them I think it will be fun and a good way to celebrate them more than just the birthday party, and a good time to remember the silly things they have done in the past. With that being said my anniversary is this month so I got to go back through our pictures a find some fun ones and I made a subway art about us how we met our best dates and the wedding, my kids have been coming up week and asking about the pictures and the words and to tell stories it has been so much fun to tell them and to hear them tell me about their wedding and who they want to marry when they are big like mom.  :)
